Today i woke up and went to see my young couple of retics as every morning and i noticed that there is a huge number of tiny white worms all around the tank, are they harmfull for the rays?, how could this happened?, and how can i remove them from retics tank?....
I´ll try and post some pics in a couple of hours....wife is also sick :irked:

Thanx in advance...

There is no food left in the aquarium, cause they only eat live food....i dontk know what happened in there. Pics for tomorrow ;) im a little bit busy today.

Your rays, or any fish for that matter, will leave behind small pieces of food when they feed. The worms feed on the very small bits of uneaten food.

its called planaria
harmless to the rays
more water changes or get a fish that will eat the leftover scraps

agree..... another way to rid the tank of them mild doses of parasite meds... seachems paraguard works great...

It is planaria.
You could use a medication but then you are also medicating the rays for no reason. The best way is to use an organic method. Feeder guppies are good for this, they eat the planaria and the rays can eat them, everyone wins, except the planaria and guppies

Just get 12 pcs corydoras sterbai.. :) No need for meds.. Have you just rinsed your filter..?

OK, i like the corys idea, cause i have in this tank a Pseudoplatystoma fasciatum and he will eat the guppies. Ill try guppies anyway....cause corys will eat all the tubifex before the rays....
As long as they´re not harmfull for the rays im ok. I do rinse the filter and i do 30% WC every 10 days. Only two small rays (10 and 15cm), and the P. fasciatum (19cm). 135Lt, and filter runs 1000Lt/h.
