Gotta ask a stupid question; 2 different sumps

Oh yeah for sure, just throwing out there as a possiblity since two pumps usually cost more then one pump of the same flow.

Could you simply put your algae turf scrubber above the tank, removing the need for 2 sumps?

Actually I had that designed into the first revision. I changed it because I didn't want to have the light on 18 hrs/day in the tank and it would be difficult to light both sides of the screen.
