There are a variety known as Dragon Scale Bettas, from what I've seen the name refers to the large scale size relative to the body. Just my 2cents

Late post but here's my lil guy. Names chachy and he resides in a 50 gallon. Not sure what type half moon?

Here is a female, my 1st attempt keeping Bettas, 
she has great personality,most times she jumps before the pellets hit the water

These are my betta splendens-- 5 boys and one little girl, some imports from LFS and some from local breeders
I have;
Males;
1 white dumbo HMPK
1 Super Red HMPK
1 blue Veiltail (he had fin rot with previous owner and hasn't since grown back his fins)
1 black/blue/purple/red elephant ear super delta (his parentage was HMPK x HM cross, hence the weird tail)
1 dragon white and red HMPK (my favourite little guy in terms of looks, hence why 3 photos of him lol)
