they should color up fine if the water is right
i just got a 3inch for £65 it was black as chould be in the shop but turned bright gold as soon as i put it in the tank
they are so aggressive to other tigers thats why i got one so small
i tryed one the same size as my thin bar and within 2hrs of it being in the tank it kicked crap out of the thin bar
now i have a 12inch ST 6inch NTT and a 3inch NGT its working fine even thow 100% of the fish in my tank chould eat the NGT if they want its fine
even my 13inch flagtail chould suck the NGT to death
great fish just very aggressive to other tigers the same size

thanks T1 he is bright yellow now and totally stable, i am going to get it on bloodworm first and its going to live with a 8'' ST, 6'' silver, 5'' NTT and a 4'' IT plus my delhezi poly 11'' and a spotted gar which is around 5'' and my red tail payara, i will add another asian aro once they get a little bigger, my frontosa tank will again just have frontosas.
