Here's a little background info...
I have never owned a fish or a fishtank in my life. Recently my GF moved in with me and she has a 55g goldfish tank that sparked my interest in keeping fish. I browsed some websites that talked about fish stuff and MFK seemed to be a meeting place for some very skilled and polite people. I researched many different things for nearly 2 months straight...went from wanting to buy a used 120g tank, to finding a good deal on craigslist for a 180g, then I found the DIY section of this site. After reading countless threads on people building magnificent custom tanks, I decided to take my hands for a little journey...
Glass being masked on 24" x 24" side.

24" x 24" with 8" x 1" notch overflow.

Overflow box masked and siliconed.

Box o' goodies! FX5 I found for $125 at a LFS and a 25' Python I got on eBay for $28.

My dragon bubbling helper next to the 3 remaining glass pieces to be masked; 24" x 60" (2x) and 24 3/4" x 60"

Tiki I got like 7 years ago in Hawaii that will definitely be included in my tanks aquascaping.

...Buying lumber to make the stand tomorrow; 30ft of 4"x4", 20ft of 2"x4", 2 sheets of 1/2" plywood, and a 1/2" sheet of foam. Finished making the 30g sump, FYI if you want to section off a sump with cheap glass, go to Home Depot! 10"x12" glass(2/16") for $2. I bought a little glass cutting tool to cut the glass, very user friendly and around $6.
