yep at least ther cheap

Howdy,

If they were in the same 30 gal tank you mention in another post: Yes, they can harm each other. Especially if you have several males. Male gouramis should not be kept together in a "small" tank. Make sure to provide plenty of hiding spots e.g. with plants.

BTW: cheap or not, they're still fish and you should strive for the best possible care...

great info harley but it doesnt matter about the hiding places have four in a 55 bow heavy planted and drift wood once they start the chase its dosent stop

Howdy,

Yeah. My male chases three females around ... in a 220 gal  I don't even want to know if he could get along with another male in my tank.

That once again emphasizes that research is most important before you buy fish - and don't trust a sales clerk to be able to distinguish genders. I actually had to point out what fish I wanted, otherwise I would maybe also be stuck with more than one male.

me too but i still wound up with two males S**t i'm returnig one tobad because i really like the opalnes opised to the 3 spots funny though they seem to leave the dwarfs alone..

All this talk suddenly made me realize why I haven't kept any gouramis in over 10 years. Males (the most colorful & desirable looking of course) are so often the most ruthless fish in the tank, be they dwarf or giant.
