GR8 fossil turds

Here's one I collected years ago. I wanted to drill a hole in it to make it into a toothpick holder. For some strange reason the wife is against that idea.

ok i need to know, how does a turd become fossilized? i understand a bone, but a turd? dog poop on my yard is pretty much gone after a few days. i just done see how these pieces stayed intact, swirls and all, to even reach the point of becoming a fossil
