I just want to hear some of your guys experience with this.

Just got my grades back from my first year of college. My chemistry grade is a 77.9.

77 is a C and 78 is a BC.

Is it fair to email him and ask if its plausible to give me a .1 percent? I know I didnt "earn" it but its such a small percent and I dont even know for sure if he plans on bumping it to begin with. The final grade is not posted just the percent.

This is the difference between deans list and not which is why im concerned about it.

Thanks for the input!

Yes email the Prof. It may or may not change but always best to talk to.the prof. That's crazy that 77 is a c. at my university usually c is 60-65 and 75-79 is a b+

When I missed the deans list it was by less than 1%. I actually missed graduating with honors by .05 on my cumulative GPA. To be honest I wish I would have worked harder and just earned it myself, but I'm glad I didnt go back and plead to have my grade shifted.

I dont want to "plea" for a grade. I simply am asking how ( if i should) I should go about talking to my prof about if the grade will get bumped or anything.

Thanks guys

If the professor has a curve on top of the current grading scheme you will probably be fine, so you can ask for clarification thre. If the professor rounds off you may have it bumped up, so you can ask how the professor rounds off when grading. Other than that the grade has already been assigned

Same here, in the program I was in, 75 to 82 is c, 83 to 92 is b, below 75 they would drop u out of the program. Anyways, I dont think its worth talking to ur professor, just take the grade and work harder on ur next classes.
