according to conkel it is Rio Tulija, Mexico

So his tank raised and wilds are from the same area then, eh? Guess he brought some back and grew them out and bred them for the tank raised, and just ships out the wild caught.

I have a male argentea from Conkel stock, not wild caught.

EDIT: That's terrible English on my part. Hopefully it gets the point across.

I don't think argentea breeds at that size. I know what you are trying to say. I have dealt with Conkel directly once and indirectly for a few times. He is a honest business man. Please just enjoy the pictures and take your comment somewhere else.

Wait, what? Did I say something improper?

I never said anything about breeding at a small size, or anything bad about Don. I have several fish that came from him indirectly, and have had email conversations with him.

To clarify, I was under the assumption that the Rio Tulija posted on his site under the Argentea was where the brood stock for his tank raised fish came from. Maybe that's incorrect, I don't know.

I was just asking where the wild caught came from, thinking it might be from a different waterway.

Sorry if I'm one of the few people who try to ask intelligent questions in posts with photos instead of the "nice fish" types.

By my "Edit" in my first post it was just me re-reading it and saying I phrased it poorly.

My bad. From your edit, I thought you were referring that Conkel is selling farm-bred cichlids as wild caught ones.

Happy fishkeeping! :)
