I really shouldn't even be thinking about this yet, but... :naughty:

In your opinion or experience, considering dimensions of the tank, what is the smallest tank size that would be able to house a grammodes for life?

I've heard mixed things on this, so this will help a lot.

Thanks in advance.;)

I think a 55g would do for a LONG time, if not for life for one or a pair.

55G or 50G breeder would be great for a long time they grow very slow

Even a 29g or 40g breeder would last a single grammode a year or two if you got the gram around 1''-2''

I definately could get another 40 Breeder... That sounds really good.

edit: sorry killerfish, I skipped right over your post somehow..Thank you ;)

edit 2: If I were to get the 40B, hypothetically, I couldn't put anything else in the tank, correct?

Yep. The 40 breeder and 55 gallon ideas are perfect.

I wouldn't put anything in with the grammodes with a tank that size... The grammode would kill most likely anything else you put in with it.

That's exactly what I was thinking... It will be completely worth it though.

If you wanted to put other fish in there, just try a bunch of livebearers and a mass of floating plants. It'll work out one way or another (probably a source of live food as they produce fry).
