Grammodes in my experience are not outwardly aggressive. Until you put your tank to sleep, then you learn that they are silent killers. They will also typically do things like peck at eyeballs.. Basically if you want a pair what you have to do is get a buch and take the least dominate male and sell the others. I know its not what is typically done, but with this sp you almost have to. Also, they are slow growers. However as with all fish, you can def maximize growth rate with really clean water, correct temperature, and quality food.
