Wouldnt double up on the prime, Just keep doing what you are doing. Carbon is the best thing to do and water changes. Just give it time and keep up what you are doing. In a few days, slow down on your water changes. Dont want to chock your system by doing to much at one time (one rt after the other).

Just like at the hospital, when someone takes someting they souldnt, they use carbon to get it out and fluids. So you are doing the same thing. Just relax and dont go to crazy.. Keep us posted.

I use a tablespoon of bleach when I wash mine and never had an issue.

Being using detergent and bleach for years with no issue with the rays. The rinse part is the most important and I believe my wife says it takes a few hours to do the socks as she puts it on sanitary wash and re washes them again with nothing added on the sanitary cycle. Been doing it this way for over the last 3 years since I incorporated filter socks into 2 of my tanks. Your socks may still have detergent lingering or something else may be wrong with the ray. GL Hope everything works out for you.
