I have the opportunity to purchase a Granulosus or Gulpercatfish.

The Granulosus (36"max) would go in my 400g tank, the Gulper (14"max)could probably stay in my 125g.

Which fish would you choose?

- 4-5" Granulosus $15
or
- 5-6" Gulper $85

I have a gulper whats going in the 125 with it? Good chance it eats it.

5-6" Flowerhorn
5-6" Ringtail pike
10" Tiretrack eel
5" Jurupari
2x 6-7" Delhezi bichir
9x 2-4" Clown loaches

5-6" Flowerhorn Food
5-6" Ringtail pike future food
10" Tiretrack eel food i 2 years
5" Jurupari food
2x 6-7" Delhezi bichir food in 1 year
9x 2-4" Clown loaches Food

There fixed it

I have 2 granulosus and they are very slow growing. Maybe like 1" per year. I got mines to come up to the top for floating pellets. They do hide mostly but active when feed. Also, I like the way they look better than the Gulper in my opinion.

You will end up with only the Gulper in that tank. Pretty much species only.

haha wow didn't know it'd eat things that large

1" per year?! i figured a 36" fish would grow way faster than that

Even with only 12-14" max size? maybe he'd be better suited in the 400 with larger fish

My gulpers would regularly eat items up to 2x their size. It's amazing. Single Species only tank.
