Grass pickerel?

You sure? They aren't very active are they?
 
Mine is alone in a 55g. They can be pretty exciting at times, but mostly just hover or hide. It seems to be an intelligent fish though, and has learned to recognize me.
 
That's good to hear, I like fish with personality, or at least pay attention to you. Looks like I'll be getting a grass pickerel for the 40. He won't be in there for life though.
 
honestly, I think a 40 would be fine for life. They are smart enough to control their bursts of speed and learn the boundaries. They don't swim around actively very often, so no need for a huge tank
