i think it should depth of tank, instead of watts per gallon...watts per gallon does not mean anything if you have a 2ft deep tank...or height of tank. but yes, definitely, lighting is key, but lots of light also brings algae...so just a heads on upkeeping.

that that is true as well. im not all the fimilar with the tanks around that size cause i dont see them very often. but with a 2 foot deep tank i would use nothing less then metal haildes n it for good plant growth. But lots of light doesnt always mean algae, you have to balance it all. i scrub algae off the glass of my 20L once every 3-4 months, so far i've only done it twice. the plants will pretty much take care of the algae problems if you set it up right.
