Plecos produce an incredible amount of waste and will dirty the gravel more.

I parted ways with plecos years ago. In my tanks they left more waste than they actually cleaned. They ate a lot of uneaten food and many clutches of cichlid eggs. A gravel vac is the best way to go with or without plecos and bottom feeders.

How long have you had your tank and do you do water changes?

pleco will only add poo to bottom as said, contrary to popular but ill-informed belief they dont actually eat poo and IME plecos poo more than any other fish so may clean some algae while its little but wont help at all with poo on your gravel if thats what your having a problem with then gravel vac is your best option, usually you should gravel vac every time you do wc
