awesome and thanks guys. i just have one more question for the moment. my angel fish go straight for the food instantly like pigs but then it starts sinking and they dont eat it, how cdo i stop the hbh tropical fish flakes from sinking? because they will not eat it off the bottom and my 6'' whiptail will not clean it either.

Farlowella acus is a vegetarian, algae off driftwood is it's number one diet. He is not a scavenger. I have also read somewhere that they take some other types of vegetarian food. I do not believe you can stop flakes from sinking. The best thing to do is if they are picky about what is floating and what is sinking, then let them starve. Feed them lightly until they slow down, then after that just stop feeding, even if they are hungry, they will learn to eat the right way.

yeah i think it is just because their is nine of them atm, i am going to pick my favourite two out in a few weeks. i might post pictures and get some of you'se to help me pick :D because i truly want them all.

9 angel fish in a 55 gallon? would be very heavy stocking i think.
going to upload some plant pictures later if you could i.d them please. and i have to say thanks for the info, you help me alot (:

i have decided just to have some fertilizer gravel i have atm, i forget the name. then a layer of round fine gravel over the top. with some fert tabs and my twice weekly dosage of flourish liquid, and i have diy co2. and a grow light with two 26w t5 light bulbs. might pick some t5 plant lights from pet shop up though :D

i decided to have a small layer of flourite fertilizer gravel with a 2-3 inch thick layer of aquarium gravel, its fine gravel. its just bigger then sand so it should be good hopefully. i bought 40kg of it just incase and if i dont open the second bag i am allowed to return it.
i might post some pictures later if you would like some :D
