Gravel vs sand

I like sand it looks good, I have a tank with gravel, one with sand and gravel and as of today I now have two tanks with sand, one white pool sand and one play sand ( brown ), I will say you might want to use the pool sand, the play sand is lighter and will cloud up your water very easily.

ill never use gravel again. sand has been so much better and the fish seem to enjoy it more. sifting through it for food and such. the sand also keeps the un eaten food on the surface for later consumption where as it falls between the gravel and rots. havnt had any probs with any sand gettin in my fluval filtration system either. i went to a pool store and bought a 50lb bag for 10 bucks. if its for ppl its safe

Sand doesn't kill my filters, but sure makes them noisy.
