i say its boxing day goto your local fish store and buy one or two canister filters. best bet. and more water, dilutes the problem of having to do so much water changes, especially with turtles. my 120g is full to top of water with a turtle island. i never change any water, i add almost 2 water jugs a week from evaporated water. i have perfect water quality with 2 cannisters and large top mount filter. for airation in the water.
love my current setup. but new tanks being built soon. going to reuse my setup and add a planted sump. and uv. but that will be a 400g.
i clean my filters, rena once a 1/2months, and eheim once every 2/3. aswell as my topmount.
my tank is fed all frozen foods, turtle and mbu puffer share shrimp, which is veery messy. and all the other fish eat krill, blood worms, just as messy
