I drove 3 hours Sunday to get a 4" tsn. I have been wanting one so bad every since I joined mfk. I have him in my 55gal grow tank with a 7"lima shovelnose. I have tried bloodworms and earthworms and he hasnt eaten yet any suggestion. Any body else have this problem? My lima has grown 1" last month and is a big eater..loves big night crawlers!
My tank is in good shape and the water is excellent. please help...

maybe u need to starve him for a bit, but id hate to say it, he wants feeders, throw in a few a wait... once they hit those whiskers, C U LATA!

I am scared of spreading disease.! How do you feed feeders and not have problems? Quarentine for weeks? But I guess to get him eating I should try it.

I have a feeding stick and have tried worms on it, it works great for the lima but the tiger runs from it when it hits his wiskers. WHat kind of food?

FEEDERS are so dirty, in fact i lost my Aro and my TSN due to the fact my G'ma fed diseased Comets, when i was at school for a week.. i was very upset to watch them die, to say the least.. i have a stick with a bent staple on the end so i can stick a peace of fish flesh on it, and wiggle it around...

if that doesnt work, u may have to go out and get some guppies or mollies and throw them in the tank... if he doesnt eat those.. you may have a mentally retarded fish... sry man i dont know what else to say! you could always call the store you got the TSN from and ask what they feed them! sry i cant help

So can i feed him any kind of frozen fish? Like dig something out of the freezer and cut a chunk off? Can it be saltwater fish? I have some king fish in the freezer I could try. hmmm

Yea , brine shrimp is usually like an ocean thing i think... Just cut the kingfish into small chunks and let it thaw, and put it on the stick and see what happens.. people feed theyre fish squid, crab legs, shrimp, and various other saltwater stuff. GOOD LCUK!

take a breather, and relax. try not to stress it. your fish is stressed and isn't interested in food yet. my tsn went almost 2 weeks with hardly eating ANYTHING when i first got him and he was only 2" if that. now after a month, he eats so damn much he stuffs his face til his belly is bout to explode. let him settle in, offer food n leave it in there for a lil bit even if he dont eat it right away. he may go after it when he's more comfortable.
