Hey Fugu, Sorry for bringing up an ancient thread but I wanted to know what became of this as it is literally the only thread on Great Barracudas on MFK. I've never ever seen one for sale either.

Only seen one for sale, it was at a Nursery in Maryland, they had like a 400 gallon pond, with a Cuda in it. So cool.

They pop up every once in a while in some of the stores here.

yeah, there are over a handful of different species from lesser to great barracuda. this one I don't remember. I did catch some in brackish water before in rivers miles up from the ocean. also have kept some in brackish, they're terribly aggressive and hard bite. One day I came home, and I saw one and a half fish swimming around. the other smaller ones was bit in half, and bleeding, but swimming upright, or trying to balance himself. eventually died.

If I'm not mistaken, that fish in Sphyraena barracuda and will later get up to 4-6'. Unless you have a monster setup, get rid of him because he can easily get 2' in a couple of years.
