Has anyone on here ever had a great dane? If so how was your experience with him/her? Do you recommend them? How do you think a boy raised from an 8 week old puppy would get along with 3 English Bulldogs?

Great Dane are awesome gentle beasts, raise them right! They do good with other dogs when raised young with them like any other dog

I have a Great Dane and I love that dog so much words.can't even explain. He is really gentle. The only time he gets aggressive is when me and me dad wrestle and he tries to protect me and when my cat tries to steal his food. But I could put my hand in his food bowl and he would just pack off and wait for me to walk away and start eating again. They eat a lot of food and if they get sick they cost a lot of money. My Dane has low b12 vitamin and erital bow syndrome and coming one year we spend like $3000 on just his food. But that most likely will not be the case for you but they still eat a lot!

I also have another dog ( jack Russell mix) he is 11 and my Dane is 4 and my Dane still tries to play with my Russell mix!

I have never owned one but the dozen or so I've come across all get along well with my basset hounds.

I have a 4 month old puppy and was just given a 3 year old female. Both are absolutely awesome. When we picked up the 3 year old she had never been off her property, never been on a leash and never ridden in a vehicle. The day after we brought her home she was walking on a slack leash and was already very gentle and loving to my kids. The puppy is the most laid back puppy I have ever seen, she is still a puppy and still does what puppies do, but considerably less destructive. I am totally sold on danes, probably for life.

Ahh...the destructive power of Great Danes. I remember when one of ours ate an entire new couch while we were out to dinner. An ENTIRE couch, lol! There was nothing left but foam and springs when we got in the door.
