For some reason they keep catching these guys and then releasing I know its partly due to aggression and tank size but I wonder if one day they will grow the fish out until its and adult in another tank to study it.
maybe a half tank with one wall against the aquarium with a huge veiwing panel and the other remaining walls like a steel mesh net for smaller fish to come in and out but not let the great white out. But who knows how much that would cost and if they wqould even do it
There's a huge difference - between keeping a Whale Shark and attempting to keep a Great White.
While the Whale shark is much larger than the Great White - growing about twice as long, and weighting roughly 5 times as much. Still the Great White has a more specialized diet(mostly marine mammals), is much more aggressive(known to attack & kill humans), and tends to be trans-oceanic (known to travel 1,000s of miles).
Yes there is a different between whale sharks and great whites. One of the big problems with great whites is not the size of the tank but the electricity surrounding the tank interferes with the sharks senses.
