Thanks everyone - quick update. Medication (Baktopur direct from Sera) has been administered. Parents say the aro is still breathing and has not thrashed about.

One issue with the treatment is it affects good bacteria..

Will have to add a cycled cannister to the tank after medication.

Same thing happened to me. I just held my fish in front of the powerhead for over two hours. It did the trick. Good luck.

same thing happened at my LFS. it lost 3 scales at 23 years old. sad story but still an amazing fish. GOOD LUCK.
