no i have not got the arowana , i will buy the tank first , when i finish collge i should have a full time job , so i will have money!!!! and i was thinking about a jardini , but not good with tankmates becuase i want some stingray in the tank and may a sal and peacock bass. thanks for your help.
If you want a ray, then i suggest you to just get a 36" wide right off the bat. Those things dont stay small and will be needing more than 36" in the future.

Discus, probably in a big enough tank if the discus are fully grown, but congo tetras will be expensive snacks. I wouldn't worry about the extra width, by the time you aro gets too big for a 24" wide tank it will need more than 5' of length to swim in anyway. get the 5x2x2' for now, and plan on upgrading in 3-4 years.
