Green Delz

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Thanks guys. I'm glad you love them. These delhezies are 2 of 4 greens delhezies exist in Indonesia...at least the ones that known in the bichir forum. Getting those delhezies are damn hard.
In my country, standart dehezies sized 6" with standart marking can cost USD 8-10, those with very good marking cost around USD 15-20, but those two I bought for USD 25 and 35. Yes, they are CB so they don't cost big money, but I', totally fine with it. I don't care, CB or WC, as long as they make me attracted.:)

Black gravel helps to make those green pigments pop out, but not all delz have green pigments all over it's body. So, it's totally about luck to find one.
Look at these other delz, they, too, are kept in black gravel tank. But green? nope...

By the way, here they are, the other 2 green delz.... Owned by 2 different person. I tried to buy those two, but the owners seem not to sell them for any price. Ok, I can understand them. Hehe.

Majority of WC delhezi will pop alot of green if you keep it on black bottom/sand/gravel,etc. As for CB delhezi, it really depends on it's genes.

LOL more "Unique" Bichirs that are not unique!

Whats with this?
Dels come in many different colors and patterns.
Most common being grey base, and green base.
It's simple.
More recent mass bred Dels have been grey based, but finding a greener base del is not hard or rare at all!
I think this is especially true in Indoneseia were fish are mass bred like no ones business!

Here in Japan maybe 90% of Delhezi you find in shops are green.

You want UNIQUE Delhezi? Go buy a "Dory-K" or an "Igarashi" sure it will set you back but THAT is a Unique Bichir.

Heres my 9 symetrical banded F1 Dory-K: (On red sand with black dusting to bring out contrast. Put this cutie on Black and see it turn green...)

IMO, Delhezi colors range so much that its just random.
With Delhezi, unique-ness comes in the form of it's markings (which Dels are known for) uniformity and number, and it's head shape.

tgm, that second picture is amazing. Thickest bars I have ever seen on a del. Looks like someone used a big fat permanent marker! If symmetrical, best looking cb del I have ever seen. Wow!! Very unique indeed.Thanx for the pics.

Yep, symetrical.
With Dory-K all their fish are selective bred F1, you get the most amazing symetrical markings, great coloration and they have what is known here in JP as "warrior head" shape. You can see this shape looking from the front on. looks like Samurai warrior helmet.

They can be very pricey. My one in the photo only cost me ¥20,000 (about $200us) as I part exchanged with a clutch of pythons we bred.
Normal price ranges from Grade C from ¥40,000 up to grade A which could be as much as ¥400,000, even more for their Platinums!

But these are true "designer" fish, and hold their re-sale value well.
Almost impossible to find outside Japan though sadly!
