Green or Gold Severum?

I have a pair of gold and green severum mixed with my other cichlids in a 221gallon tanks. The gold one definately stand out but you should know that the imported one from Taiwan are much better looking. The pair i am having from Malaysia does not have the orange strip that appear over the body when they get mature.
However, you have to give them high protien food to ensure their true color appear. I feed them with frozen red worms, small feeder fish and mostly Hikari spirulina pellets. But lately i have also been feeding them with frozen cow heart.

they are quite nice, i guess different people prefer different fish
btw if you want the color to come out in golden severums, you can feed them tetra bits.

MUCH nicer than most of the ones we get down here... :-(

I love the Golden, but i don't like the ones with the red pattern all over them. Each to thier own i suppose.
Mine just has the red/orange on the bottom fin and small amount of red on the face. His yellow is a darker than you see on the picture. More yellow/orange.
Everyone notices this fish first in my tank only sometimes outdone by my texas.

I went to one of my LFS yesterday and checked in on their shop mascot. It is a 13" Gold Severum and he is unbelievable. I definately prefer the gold once they hit the 5-6" size and on...the color seems to really start to become breathtaking at that point.
That being said, I've also seen some really nice Greens about the same size as that gold and they look nice too....just seem to be much more common these days.
