Ive been doing partial water changes almost every other day for a few days now, and it still doesnt seem to be clearing up too much. Im assuming the WC's would be a good thing, but am I wrong??

Yes, W/C only feeds the algae for more blooming

It appears that the pong is now going to a more brown color, is this normal? It no longer looks like pea soup with residual on the top.

Mine did the same thing when i installed my UV, went from green to like tannis color like it had driftwood in it. A few water changes will clear it right up.

Well it cleared up ALOT for a week or more, to the point when I could see the bottom in the deep end. Now, its started going green again!
