IMO if you compare the 2 pics he give you moore of the ancient feel with the black sand IMO. Also what size is your tank/how many pounds of sand are in the tank?

He is in a 120 gallon acrylic tank 4x2x2 duel overflow

And pounds of sand is roughly 100 lbs is that OK or should I get more? Its 3 inches deep.

awesome looking setup! The dark sand looks great with the green plants. What is that pale worm in the right side of the tank? Is that a bichir? lol

also becareful on using plants lol cause if you do decide to get more polys or as they get larger the plants will start to get torn up/trampled

Once the get bigger the plants will be more heavy duty. Jungle vals and swords will be fine with them. Myro, crypts and cabombas, not so much. The more plants you have the better oxygen level you have as well as clear water.
