hmm... no puffer FW or SW should be put in 28gallon or less, yes that includes valentini.

^ i just put a valintiny on hold

A lot of pet stores have green spotted puffers in freshwater, which is what they're born in as babies (or brackish), but as they get older, they migrate to the sea and live in full salt as adults. I have a tubby little neon green juvenile GSP in my FOWLR tank at 1.022 specific gravity and he's thriving. I feed him frozen cubes of brine shrimp/krill and also twice per week get gets a small chunk of meat, usually raw shrimp or a piece of a silverside. By keeping him well fed with lots of live rock to explore, he's very content. He doesn't mess with any of my other fish nor my starfish because he has no need to. Plus he's a baby, so he's not dominant yet. Once he gets bigger and/or starts showing any signs of aggression or dominance that actually causes damage to the other fish or inverts, I will move him to his own tank. I love the little guy, he's hilarious. He interacts with me through the glass, will follow me if he thinks I have food, and he plays with his "friend" in the mornings (his own reflection in the glass at the back of the tank). He sleeps by resting on the bottom and last night at about 4am I found him curled up in a ball laying right on top of my big starfish, fast asleep. No lie! It was the cutest thing I've ever seen. I also discovered that he likes to chase a laser pointer dot -- I was playing with my kittens, and it shined into the tank, and he followed the dot on the back glass where it showed up against the blue background. He chased it up, down, left, right, it was really funny. I have to say that he's the most interactive and CUTE little fish I've ever had. I got him for $10 at my LFS, he came in with an order as an extra and they didn't really know what to do with him, so they gave him to me for half price. :)

yeah... sorry to break it to you that valentinis can't be in 29 or less gallons...

i only have a spare 10gal so the gsp will get to big

maybe a valintine toby ? or mAYBE just fresh water puffers ?

i want to do a 55 galb with a snowflake eel and a whitespot grouper
I think we need to keep in mind that only dwarf puffers can fit in a 10G comfortably. What size tank(s) do you have right now?

as long as you slowly acclimate him to your salinity for a few hours even let him in a bag clamp it to the inside of tank and add a small amount of water over a 2 day period it should be fine. But cannot be with corals or sessile inverts.

you can have the pea pod dwarf puffers in fw but they need live black worms every day. i had 4 in a 10g but got sick of going to the store for live food. i had lots of pvc for hiding places and never had a problem. they would probably kill other fish. they like to sleep in the pvc.

Ok you peeps are missing the point

Thread was talking about gsp in sw

I know how to take care of Gsp (I have one)
And I just got some dwarfs in a 2.5gal (1 male and female)
