Well, at least he's smiling! What kind of food is he eating? Do you give him any vitamins?
 
ive had mine in a 65 cube full salt sg 1.020 for a year or so and in a 45 brakish before that i also get about 1/4 in per year

Krill, bloodworms, snails and shrimp. He refuses everything else.

Yeah, that's about how mine is going. 1/4 an inch a year. And he is also in 1.020. Before that, brakish.

I know he might be only 2 -2.5 inches or so, but he is still alive at 4 years. I have never heard of one of these living more than 1 year before coming on this site. Even though I know
that they live longer. I've never met anyone that took care of puffers properly or heard of anyone. It wasn't until this site that I found people who actually cared.
And I've only been on here since May. I think Ive done pretty good with him in comparison with all of the horror stories I have heard in the 5 years of working in the aquatic industry.
 
With proper feood & housing, there is no reason these fish shouldn't live into their teens. Try soaking his foods in fish vitamins. Check out these other food options: FEEDING PUFFERS
