Green sunfish vs any type of cichlid

Pretty much All the sunfish I have had have been super bad@$$. I've had them with my red devil and they didn't back down.

my texas cichlid is harassing my bluegills, the smallest is a little more than twice it's size.
my greens are too small to do anything but die. the biggest is about 3" long. I have 26 sunnies and the greens are the slowest growing.

Really? my green's are the fastest growing sunfish I have, my last one I got back in November of 2011 at 1.5" it is now at least 8.5"

The greens I kept when I was younger would routinely spank any cichlid of similar size that'd attempt to challenge their dominance. Red devils, texas, salvini, JD, didn't matter, the cichlids would go in to mouth lock and they'd just get their flanks battered hard.
