So can this still be spawning behaviour even though there is only one fish???

Yes, that's possible. My blue acara did this, not a gt, but similar. She stopped eating, killed one of the tetras in the tank with her that she had previously ignored, dug a pit, changed coloration slightly so that her vertical bars became more visible, started flaring and shaking at me through the glass occasionally. A few days later, there were eggs, even though she's the only cichlid in the tank with a school of tetras.

<---- That female Con fell in love with my JD. She would have her colors on always and rub against him and try to get him to dig. She would also get extremely aggressive when any other fish would come around. JD didnt care 1 bit. He was 3-4in's bigger and so was everything else in the tank. Thats why today i say convicts breeding temperment is beyond physco. I wanted a fine little red belly convict in my 90 but soooo much for that idea. She went back to the LFS

Well it was definitely spawning, got home tonight and she has laid a heap of eggs on a big Anubis leaf, so that's two questions answered, now i need to find a nice male!!

wow cool keep us updated when u find a male.

Ok, got me a juvi for her today, not a decent size male green terror in all of Melbourne!!!! Breeder told me he is 90% sure this guy is a male but we will see!!

My female laid ALLOT more eggs today on a rock, see pic.

The other GT we got is digging a hole over the other side of the tank but still getting allot of aggression from my bigger female.

The other two shots are of the new juvi that has grown a fair bit and showing some colors, hoping I can get a definable sex on it?

Thanks,

Chooka
