Green Terror and Blue Jack Dempsey?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
That makes sense.....What can I put him with when he is that big?

You need to allow your EBJD to become established first and get to around 4-5 inches. By then you could put smaller cichlids like Firemouths, Convicts, Salvinis. Make sure not to buy a cichlid that will eventually out grow it and dominate it. In the end putting him with Congo tetras and Rainbows like I have is the best bet. If you buy Convicts, try to avoid buying a pair. That can cause serious havoc in your aquarium.

you can go for HRPs

Problem solved: I am getting another Electric Blue Jack Dempsey with the other one:headbang2

If you keep the Ebjd smaller than the Green terror I wouldn't see why they wouldnt get along.. ive got a 3" Ebjd in with a 4.5" Blue acara and theres no problem.. a green terror should be fine, that is in my opinion..

An Ebjd is more docile than a regular JD.

Avoid smaller tetras like lemons, they'll disappear quickly.

If you want a dead EBJD sure.

Maybe but it worked for me. My previous EBJD held his own and dominated any cichlid in his size range. That included a grammode, Red Terror female, and a couple of other really tuff cichlids. Of course it's all in the fishes personality and my current EBJD would get killed in the same type of set up.

EBJD and GT should be fine together but they'll need a bigger tank then 55. In a 55 u can use dwarf cichlids like acaras, convicts, firemouth, other cryptoheros species, keyhole cichlid, if ur determined about keeping cichlids with the EBJD. Salvini is IMO generally more agressive then EBJD.

My 8" EBJD gets along great with my 6'' Rotkeil severum. But, remember, what works for one person in one tank may not work for you in your tank. Always have an exit strategy.
