Green Terror and Dither fish...

I'm getting ready to set up my 68g and would like to know what you guys recommend for dither fish. My 3" gt will be the main attraction and a gold nugget pleco. I'll have a black background with some stone work and a big piece of driftwood as a center piece. My sand will be either silica or mortar sand, which has a brownish gray look. Obviously I want some fish that won't fit in the gt's mouth, but look good as well. Here's a pic of the current set up. I took this pic a month ago. Thanks.

Convicts make great dithers for gt's. Just be sure you dont get a pair because they breed like guppies and and could end up fighting with the terror.
 
convicts will nip and run because your GT is too slow to catch them. i tried that and my GT ended up with torn fins. i would avoid other cichlids if your GT is the star as it could end up being nipped by other cichlids.
filament barbs work great and are more interesting than silver dollars which im sure someone will suggest eventually. they are always on the move, always vibrant and shiny, they also get to about 4-5" if i remember right.
 
I have 4 Silver Dollars in with my GT and i would recommend using them :-) but rainbow cichlids and convicts also make good dithers as long as you have some hiding spots for them and if they breed then you have some live food, but in a 68 gal i wouldn't advise getting a pair of convicts to breed if you have any other fish in the tank with them.
 
convicts would work as long as they're a lot smaller than your GT so if they're pair off they can't kill it and it will be still be in control.

PS- i've had cons beat up on a GT(and a midas) two and a half times bigger than they were.
 
I just got some GTs and some dithers I'm planning to get are Giant Danios and Clown loaches. Might throw some Sajica frys in there once they put on more size to grow them out.


Stay away from tinfoil barbs they eat too much and they'll occasionally nip fins.
 
Thanks for all of the replies. Do you think the smaller 2" danios will be a problem? Do you think the gt will eat them when it gets bigger, even though they'll grow up together? I like some of the smaller ones.
