I really want a green terror in a planted tank (kind of like my avatar which isn't mine) and I want to know if the gt will destroy the plants? Also how can I keep my plants living as in fertilizers, which lights should I get, and will i need CO2?

By the way I'm going to have a 75 gallon tank and he's going to be in there with some sort of pike cichlid.

Thanks
Mike

I can't speak for the GT, but as for the plants, depends on what you get. I have standard fluorescent lighting in all my tanks, most have plants. I use Iron and potassium supplements, but no CO2.

larger fish are always destructive..you can keep him with larger plants..with broader leaves..you might fine some uprooted..buts its always easy to replant them

How big is he now?
That'd be sweet...Get two fat ass swords in there and a good size piece of driftwood with a little moss tied to it.
Now I'm getting a good idea rolling around in my head:headbang2

I had no probs with my GT and plants at all, the plants was in there a few months.

but when i put my Jag in the tank all the plants was up-rooted and shredded with in a week:nilly:

What kind of substraight are you using there?

the answer,- yes, but the plants should be stable and in place well, gt's can uproot plants, but you still can keep larger plants with them, as long as the planted correctly
