Green Terror and plants...

some fish can be more destructive than others. but if you use big enough and hardy enough plants they may be able to survive!
try attaching the plants to driftwood, or buying them that way. I bought anubias nana and anubias barteri (SP?) and my GT loves hanging around them but never damages them
I think it depends on the fish when it comes to plants. My male flowerhorn destroyed all the fake plants I tried when he was younger. I gave up on that, now there are just a few remaining shreds stuck to the plastic log in his tank. You guys have some nice planted tanks though.
if you want your GT to look like the one in your avatar, make sure you buy the GOLD Saum, Not the Silver Saum as that fish will have white edges on its fins
Cool glad I could help. its also refreshing to have someone ASK BEFORE they run out and buy a fish. GT = Good choice. I'm happy with mine but only had him for a year. Still growing..SLOOOOOOWWWWWWWLLLLYYYYY
I wouldn't expect it to turn out just like your avatar tho. Lots of times they color enhance pics to pump up the consumer ya know. Still beautiful fish!!

When I had my store, I got 4 of them that looked just like that. They all came from a pond here in Florida. The smallest was 11" and the biggest was about 13 1/2 inches. As far as I know they were not given any color enhancers, but it is not unheard of for them to be used.
Here are a few pics of my 4" Gold Saum. not sure if its Male or Female yet. Maybe someone else could comment on that. Also in there are shots of my Salvini who the GT killed last weekend. Miss that little guy. had AWESOME color.
