my LFS only sells semi aggressive cichlids, they dont believe in keeping aggressive fish....and the last GT i got from petsmart, it had gill curl..I just want to buy one GT with great genetics..and for it to be a MALE!....I would like True GT but i dont know much about them like size, temper, etc........
Correct me if im wrong but the true GT has more of an inverted body colour to a g.saum similar size but a lot more aggression.

Gold saums are very common. Even if you have to drive an hour to a different town to get one it will still be cheaper then shipping. Petsmart generally sucks, but I've seen plenty of great looking GT's on here that came from petsmart. Maybe you just got a bad one. For the price I'd try another cheapy one rather then mess with shipping. Plus the rivulatus that Jeff is selling is a different fish. I have both and personally think the gold saums look better.

Jeff has the Rivulatus and I havent seen those in local stores. They ARE very hard to find.

I have the opposite problem. I cant seem to find a male but always get females. I have a young female right now.
yea i had a female she jumped out of the tank, had a male but he was stunted from the previous owner so i gave him up, then i had a yound male 2inches but had gill curl so i gave him up......I just want a nice show quality green terror

gold saum is not teh same fish as the rivulatus. the rivulatus takes aggression to a .. whole.. notha.. level.
