Green Terror causing trouble

I commented on a thread the other day about green terrors and tank size and was made out to be a 'fish nazi'.

Theyre called terrors for a reason and generally speaking, will need a large tank to tolerate tank mates.

A 4' 75 gallon is a good size for a single rivulatus or possibly a pair. They seem to tolerate non cichlid dithers better than other cichlids from experience, however I did have a 5 inch green terror that loved to pick apart the poor bristlenoses of various sizes.

Same... I had bad luck with BNPs with my GT. It didn't help that I tried adding them after he'd been in the tank for a while though. I'm guessing if you get it at 2-4 inches and get a larger BNP you'd have a better chance.

I've seen them with large silver dollars pretty commonly though, that seems to be another safe bet.

Yep, I had mine in with 6 spotted silver dollars in a 5'x18"x20". He was about 8-9 inches and they were around 3-4, the terror would chase them every now and then but nothing serious.

My green terror was brutal to any Severum I tried mixing him with even in a 180 gal. At any sight he would dart and chase them down. He's now with my tiger O in a 135 gal where aggression is matched.
I had a super red, notatus and green in the 180 first. I added the GT from my grow out at about 8-10" sevs were 5-6".

He was the polar opposite for 1.5 yrs. I guess he hit maturity and a switch was flipped for dominance.

adding the sev probably changed territory dynamics of the tank. I would rearrange the tank and cintue observing his behavior. in the future i think it would help to add multiple fish at one time to spread out his aggression.
