First sorry for the lengthy post.
I have recently rescued a GT (gold saum-about 2 inches). I got her from a friend. My friends fish was beating the heck out the lil girl so I took her and nurseing her back to health. She doing alot better now. I had a male before that lived for around 9 years and would eat ANYTHING that I put in the tank. The lil female I got now will not eat any of veggies at all. I have tried veggie pellets floating and sinking, all kinds of green veggies, even the alage tablet. She will not go for it. I tried soaking in garlic with no luck. I even held off feeding for a few days with no luck. However she will eat hikari gold pellets, frozen blood worms , cichlid flakes and frozen brine shrimp with Spirulina. I am worried that she not getting enough green veggies in her diet. My question is , Is there enough veggies in the flake and the Spirulina in the brime shrimp to help keep her healthy??? If not what can i do to help get veggies in her diet????

Can see her progress and size here: http://www.monsterfishkeepers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=358855

I would think she would be fine of the diet she has.

thx for your input. But dont u think she might need more veggies in her diet??

The brine shrimp gut loaded with sprulina is a good treat but not the best staple. I would wate her out. She'll eat before she dies of starvation. I have been using NLS Thera +A on my GT's with good results. Just don't feed her for a week and then give her what you want her to eat, it's a battle of wills and you have the upper hand.

thanks. at the moment i am useing hikari gold pellets for the main staple and the blood worms and shrimp once a week. i'll try again going without feed this time i hold out for 7 days. just worries me a little holding out for so long with out feeding her.

I know, it's harder on you then her. If you don't feel comfortable not feeding her wate a few days and try giving her only what you want her to eat when she gets hungrey enough she'll eat.

well held out for 7 days and she still will not eat any types of veggies. saw here one time try a pea but she spit it out. also tried alage wafer which she spit out too.. i am at a lost on veggies for her.
ATM i have her on the same feeding schedule as my other cichlids which is:
Hikari Gold pellets on Mon Wed and Friday, Hikari Alage tablet on Tues (which the GT will not eat), Frozen peas on Thurs (the gt will not eat), frozen blood worms every other Sat, frozen brine shrimp with Spirulina(off beat from bloodworms) every other saturday, and cichlid flakes on sunday.

do u think this diet going to be ok for her even though she dont like veggies? (haha just like a kid not wanting there veggies)
