Then what are the other specific names? I've not seen them published yet if there are any.

Its not been figured out. There are several opinions out there. It is a fact that they aren't all the same fish though as 1 comes from a different location than the other two.

So far best explanation I heard yet was aequidens sp. "silver saum" and aequidens sp. "gold saum" for the two that aren't the peru based aequidens rivulatus. However people will argue with you and say that the Peru based fish is in fact not an aequidens rivulatus and it is in fact a silbersaum. Personally I think silbersaum came from a misquote of someone stating silver saum and talking about one of the two ecuador species. There is plenty of debate as to which is the true green terror. I personally think its just nice to call them all by their common name that isn't green terror however the Peru based fish doesn't have a common name aside from green terror. The peru based fish is also the rarest of the three. Both Silver saum and Gold Saum can be had in local fish stores, but good luck finding the Peru fish. I have owned all three and currently have 5 of the peru based fish so I am slightly biased when I say I think it should be considered the aequidens rivulatus and the true green terror as the other two are clearly considered Saums. Its like the Red Terrors. Festae and Cichlasoma urophthalmus are both commonly called red terrors. The Cichlasoma urophthalmus has another name the Mayan. Festae is the true red terror however.

Honestly this has been debated over and over in at least 5 threads so far since I have been on this forum alone and is debated all over the web. I really don't care to debate it much more as there are clear members on both sides of the fence. It hasn't been settled. There is no proof anywhere about either side. There is one poorly cited and poorly written article out there that claims the aequidens rivulatus is out of ecuador. The problem with this article is A. the original source is not quoted, and B. the guy doesn't really state what the original person claimed. He merely says that the fish described is located in ecuador. Well if you have ever seen the two fish with the silver lining its very easy to have a description that fits both. He never once says that the original person that found the fish, who is supposedly quoting said he found it in ecuador.

I have never seen a uro called a red terror.

Sorry I guess that wasn't the best response. My point is that's the same place saums are labeled as green terrors. I bet when they were first discovered they came in just like the mayans and festae.
