Hey guys I have access to some free green terror fry problem is I dont have anywhere to put the cuz they obviously too small to go with the big dawgs. I do have an eclipse 6 gallon tank. My question is will a single green terror actually grow in a 6 gallon or is it no even worth trying. Let me know what you guys think. Obviously the six gallon wont be a permanent home but just wanted to know if he could get some size on him in a tank like that.

it should grow but I would not keep it there very long or it might get stunted. hits the 2" mark move up to a bigger tank. at least 20 gal but that wont be big ebough for long

Good thing is they grow wicked slow. I'd pick up a 10 or 20, they're not that expensive.

its not the money its the space dont have too much room in my apt. I just I have the one big tank and a little eclipse 6 on my dresser in my room. What does stunted mean or what causes it any ways

think of a fish life
fry-adult size wich in a GT would be idk mybe 3 years
so it starts as a fry and its growing
and now its 2" but the tank is so small or the water quality is so bad that is can not be healthy and flourish and grow
now its beeen like this for 18 months and at this point the hormones that were being secreted to make it grow and everything are no longer present and even if it is in really clean water and a big tank it can no longer grow, so it will be stuck at this size forever
i could be innacurate but this is my interpretation of stunting

Just doesnt make sense for that to happen if I were to maintain perfect water quality, which wouldnt be hard to do with one fish and frequent water changes. I could see how something would get stunted in poor water conditions just not with clean water.

For example I was at a pet store and I asked the guy about a green terror he jad just gotten in on a trade and he told me "ya the guy gave it up because it got too big for his ten galln" :) but the fish was awesome looking. THats why I got the idea in the first place. The fish was easily about 5-6 inches

a 6" fish in a 10 gallon is terrible
i would grow it out only if you knew you could have a new tank by the time it hit 4" without being stunted

I know I will have a bigger tank eventually, just didnt see the need for one right now, just wondering if it will grow. Four inches would be a perfect size for me

if you can keep the water clean
how big is ur other tank?
