Really thinking male on this one...
Although the thickness of the orange band says female.
I'm probably wrong, but just my opinion

I say male for GT due to lack of green bearding near the lower jaw. My male had a thin orange band throughout its adolescence.

On the tail fin, yes once it reached about 5-6" total length.

Still hedging my bets that it is a female. Should be able to tell if it is a male at 3".
