Looks male due to the ize and shape of the vent. This may change over time though. Are you sure that a gt? It looks very different.

gts are like that at a juvi stage, honestly it looks like a female, but it will be for sure a male if it develops a round hump. also females have green anal fins so thats why it looks like a female

I wasnt altogether concerned with male or female, until I read that a female who has laid eggs at a young age could stop growing!! Guy i got him/her off had like 15 in a tank and was breeding them continuously so now I'm concerned that a year or 2 down the line it's still going to be the same size is that even possible for a female to stay at 2-4 inches ?

I would say it's a male.

One of the easiest ways to tell is by looking at the unpaired fins. In males there are bright metallic blue markings in these fins.

Female of mine

And a male

The scientific name is Andinoacara Rivulatus commons name is Green Terror or Gold saum/White saum. Same fish different color seams on the fins.
Not to be confused with Andinoacara Stalsbergi that looks very similar.

Rivulatus has rows of black dots down the sides.
Stalsbergi doesn't have the black dots

Here is a Stalsbergi from Google not mine.

It won't stop growth but will slow it down greatly due to using energy to develop eggs instead of growth.
