That's not really true I knew someone who had two green terrors with firemouths,dollars but all fish aren't the same so you never really no what could happen.

A male GT max out at about 10 inch, so a 12" wide 55 gal is the minimum for a single male and tight for a pair. An 18" wide 75 gal will allow more room for breeding and aggression management. GT are not particularly aggressive and I have successively kept a pair in a 75 gal peacefully with non aggressive tankmates. 75 gal is the best small tank for big cichlids as the incremental cost from a 55 gal is minimal, yet the footprint can accommodate oscar size fish.
