My green terror is around 9 inches approximately 2 years old, he used to eat like a hog. I had him in my 125 with a few other cichlids and two big silver dollars. He wasn't getting any food at one point because my silver dollars are like pacman they gobble up food as soon as it hits the water so I figured out a way to trick them into eating less so my other fish could get some, everything was going good until a few weeks ago my green terror completely lost interest in food I tryed and tryed until I realized he might need some isolation because he might just have lost interest due to being around so many female fish, idk. Right now he's in a 30 gallon in another room until I could figure out the problem. It's only temporary until I can nurse him back to health. Can someone help me I'm a little worried I don't wanna lose him it's been weeks since he's eaten what could I do?View attachment 1184760 View attachment 1184761 View attachment 1184760 image.jpeg

Have you observed any white stringy poo....
If that is the case , then you might have to treat him for Internal parasites...

Sometimes , they can go without having any food for long.
Soak the food in a garlic dip and he may take it.

my 1st thought was some internal parasites will almost completely make an animal lose their appetite in the advanced stages, so treating for parasites and continuing to try to induce feeding w/ various food items.

Has he been fed live feederfish? If so, parasites are a safe bet.

I'd treat for parasites. His belly looks a little sunken in.

As above treat for internal parasites.

What have you been feeding it previously, and are you trying to feed it?

I try a few times a day to feed hikari cichlid gold I remove it after he shows no interest ,he is having clear and also sometimes white stringy poop. I used to feed him goldfish like once a week but haven't in months ,all my other fish are fine I guess it's parasites. How do I treat it ? Also I notice a slight hith now that I'm analyzing him more

White poo is a clear sign that it is internal parasites, as it is the fishes stomach linning being ejected in the fish's atempt to get rid of them.

I don't know about where you are, as in america you can get better chemicals, but in NZ the only thing we can get is prazi for internal parsites. If you have any really good local fish shops you could go in there and see what they have for internal parasites, or maybe someone from america here can tell you what is the bestyou can get.

PraziPro is what I would dose with first, do a large water change and follow instructions on the bottle. Typically a 5 day bath works really well, but if you are feeling uncertain about the results, you should be fine doing a second dose after day 3 and waiting until day 7 to finally do a water change. Make sure you DO NOT do a water change during the treatment process.

Are there any food items that he particularly likes more than others, anything you'd typically give as a "treat" more so than a part of his diet?

firstly, absolutely beautiful green terror; good job :)

secondly, as others have stated; I strongly suspect parasites, the white stringy crap would all but confirm it. I'd recommend something with praziquintel in it
