Lol...I thought you'd know better. The fish japes posted pics of is an acara. I don't think GTs have different body shapes. They are very very very distinctive, especially the nuchal profile, like I said earlier.

It is a Blue Acara 100%.

I'm not worried about the orange on the tail. Today he's half coloured up and reasonably stripey depending on where he is in the tank. Plenty of BA's have the orange tip on the top 2-3 spines of their caudal fin.

True BA's don't even have the yellow/orange stripe at all if I remember correctly (depending on where in the world they come from), my breeding pair definitely didn't, but most that are going around in LFS stores here in Australia have the coloured dorsal tips.

Dorsal, yes, tail , no........I say GT, but we will see in due time :) Good luck with this guy, and thanks for getting me off the couch to go get some for myself :) I got a bad-ass lung for 15$ :headbang2

Update for you guys. Just introduced a Green Severum that me and my mate have had our eye on at a great local LFS for a while now. He was from the same batch as a lot of others and he was huge, definitely the dominant fish, so I picked him up this morning.

Personally this absolutely confirms it for me, funny what happens when a fish of equal size gets introduced :p

Sorry about the size of the pics, might be a tad big width wise. First pic is the one that does the real justice of what he looks like in real life. Had my window open so lighting was pretty terrible.
