Green Terror Sexing

I cannot tell if my GT is a male or a female. It shows wonderful colors but doesn't have pointy fins. I want to take the JD's to my LFS and trade them in for the opposite sex GT because I am bored with the Jacks and I don't want any of my fish to be killed. They are fighting because the JD's are trying to breed, like always, but I never see any eggs. Thanks for the help.

It looks like it is starting to form a hump on its forehead, leading me to believe its male. But yet again, I'm not a GT expert.

He/she beat up both of the JD's and has them in the corner of the tank.

To a point in looking at your JD's, which are beautiful by the way, that they both may be female. I would guess too that your GT maybe a male. I would put a bit more structure in the aquarium in the mean time to give them some places to hide and get away from each other. Clay/taracota pots work pretty well for quick cheap caves. Tank looks great, fish look great, love the black gravel. I see you're from Nebraska. I grew up in Nebraska! Just moved to South Dakota last year. Where at in Nebraska you from? And good luck with your fish!

I say it's a she. At that size if it was a male it would have developed rays on its fins by now.

Im in Omaha. The JDs arent beautiful anymore... The GT has beat them up pretty bad and is still beating them up. I am going to take the JDs to a LFS ASAP!!! I don't know what happened my tank was so peaceful a few days ago. I think I just found out why they are called Green TERRORS!

Why do so many people go by fins to sex gt's... this is by far the most unreliable way to sex a fish.... There are many females with nice fin extensions while there are males with small fins......
To the op I think you need to vent this one... I cant even tell.... Im leaning towards female.... Just vent to be 100% sure
