Correct me if I am wrong but I think the point was that a decent sized group of JD can function the same as the more traditional dither fish when in a more rough and tumble setup
I tried buenos Aires tetras with mine but he killed them. I think if you want to add fish they either have to be tough enough to hold their own or fast enough not to be caught. I think giant danios might be big enough.
