Hey all I am starting a new cichlid tank and I would like to make it a South American kind of tank. The only fish I must have in it are green terrors so what else would I be able to put in with them? I would be starting them all out young at about 2".

if it is a big enough, other south americans are good tankmates. Such as chocolates, oscars, severums, etc

You could keep clown loaches with them I have 6 of them with my GT's and thinking of adding 4 more soon

Depending on the size of the tank.
CL's are slow growers but can get quite big, possibly bigger or as big as the GT.

My GT was more of a chaser/bully, he never hurt or killed any of my fish.
I kept Convicts, Texas,Firemouths, with mine.
He was the alpha of the tank.
He didn't like my RD very much, he always chased him, but the little guys he was fine with.
But keep in mind I heard of many GT being killers so...

My GT kept my two Oscars confined to one tiny corner of the tank and they were about 3 times the size of him. I know all Cichlids have different personalities but in my experience Oscars can't hang with a GT.

1 large cichlid needs atleast 75 gallons, maby get 2-3 smaller variety in a 75.. Save yourself all the hastle and buy Monster sized tanks,,you know you will need one sooner or later lmao

I would be starting it in a 30 and then moving to a 4x2x2 tank as soon as i get it resealed and to a 250 if need be. I was think firemouths or maybe some type of geos? or hoplarchus psittacus maybe?

pair of firemouths are a great choice for smaller tanks...very attractive and decent personality
